On the shore at Árskógssandur near Akureyri, Bjórböðin is a relaxed spa where you soak in warm baths of young beer, water, hops and live yeast, then unwind in outdoor hot tubs looking over Eyjafjörður. It is a lighthearted, restorative stop on a northern wellness trip.
What to expect
Private wooden tubs filled with a warm, skin softening beer bath, followed by a rest and a soak in outdoor hot tubs by the fjord. The mood is easy and a little playful, a nice change of pace from the bigger lagoons.
Getting there
About 35 minutes north of Akureyri at Árskógssandur, on the way toward the Dalvík and Hauganes whale watching coast.
